SFBI Receives The Santa Fe Community Foundation’s Prestigious Piñon Award
September 2009
Each year, five outstanding nonprofits are honored with the Santa Fe Community Foundation’s prestigious Piñon Awards. The Santa Fe Business Incubator was the 2009 recipient of the John Gaw Meem Award for Civic Affairs. Often called “the Academy Awards for the nonprofits,” the Piñon Awards are the only honor reserved exclusively for nonprofit organizations. The Santa Fe Business Incubator was honored to receive this recognition, which included a video tribute, a statue and a cash grant, in a community celebration at the Lensic Performing Arts Center on October 12, 2009.
The Santa Fe Community Foundation supports nonprofits through grants, training, advice and technical assistance, connects donor interests with community need, builds philanthropy in the community and is an authority on the nonprofits in Northern New Mexico.
