Marie Longserre fuses entrepreneurial dreams with business incubation.
Marie Longserre, President and CEO of the Santa Fe Business Incubator participated in the groundbreaking ceremony in 1997, guided the fundraising and expansion of the facility and program in 2001 and most recently spearheaded the installation of a state-of-the-art shared BioScience lab.
A recognized leader in Business Incubation and entrepreneurial development, Marie served six years on the board and as chair of the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) (the world’s lead Business Incubation organization with 2,000 members in 50 countries).
Marie has led trainings and presentations on business incubation and economic development in New Mexico, through the United States and globally. She was instrumental in developing State of New Mexico’s Certified Business Incubator program.
She is a 2014-2016 appointee to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Community Development Advisory Council and formerly served as a board treasurer of the New Mexico Small Business Investment Corporation (SBIC).
Under Marie’s leadership SFBI has been presented numerous awards for excellence in Economic Development including recognition from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Economic Development Association. Client companies have been honored with local and national awards for their growth and success.
Marie received a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Education from the University of Texas. Her professional experience includes business management and education with numerous recognitions: “Who’s Who in Technology” – Technology Facilitator, NM; New Mexico’s “Entrepreneur Advocate of the Year” – WESST Corp/PNM; Governor’s Award for Outstanding New Mexico Women; “Business Woman of the Year” – Capital City Business & Professional Women; “Best Practices in Economic Development” - HUD John J. Gunther Award. She currently serves on multiple advisory councils and boards including the Rocky Mountain Incubation Collaborative.
Her interests include traveling, especially visiting the National Parks and reading.
